Prevention Funds:
HOMELESS
PREVENTION AND RAPID RE-HOUSING PROGRAM (HPRP)
In
July 2009, Catholic Charities of Northwest Florida, Inc. became the
sub-grantee under the Florida Office of Homelessness for stimulus
funds in Sub-district 2A (Bay, Calhoun, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, and
Washington counties). Funding allocations were based on unemployment
rates, food stamp recipients, and number of evictions in a particular
area.
The federal guidelines
required that priority consideration be given to households who are
impacted by the current recession, including those who:

Are unemployed, lost a second job, or had work hours reduced

Are
on fixed incomes;

Have
income that is below the poverty level;

Face
eviction due to foreclosures;

Have
minor children living in the home/apartment.
